协调明慧学校的修炼体会

慈悲伟大的师父好!

尊敬的同修们好!

今天我向师父汇报与同修分享悉尼明慧学校近两年来的变化、与自己在参与协调工作中的一些认识与修炼体会。

一、克服困难做好协调工作

悉尼明慧学校成立至今已经超过二十年了,当年的很多明慧学校的大法小弟子已经长大進入了各个正法项目中,据校长说,至少有二十位神韵演员曾经是悉尼明慧学校的学生。虽然说这些大法小弟子的成长与成就主要是他们父母的努力,但是,明慧学校给孩子们提供了一个比学比修的修炼环境,却是在当今的社会上难得的一块净土。

我是五年前加入到明慧学校项目中来的,那时我儿子刚过四岁,第一次到明慧学校试课,也是第一次看到我儿子愿意炼功,他看着别人的动作,模仿着炼,还很认真。我非常开心,之前在家怎么叫他,他都不炼功。所以,我就下定决心一定要送他到明慧学校来,因为我知道这是师父给大法小弟子们创造的一个难得的修炼环境。

三年前,我有幸受校长邀请参与悉尼明慧学校的一些协调工作,在这三年的协调工作中,我也经历了很多心性上的考验。

在参与协调工作前,我是很少和其他同修沟通的,因为我有全职工作,要管孩子,照顾家庭,做三件事,时间已经排得很满了。原本以为明慧学校也就是周日一天,可是参与协调工作后发现不是这样的,要做好协调工作,我还需要在平时付出更多的时间。比如说与老师、家长的沟通需要时间,协调孩子们参加各项活动需要时间,同时给孩子们上课还需要备课时间等等,另外还有些学校事务性的事情要处理,总之,我发现自己的时间真的不够用。

去年年初,我向工作单位提出减少上班时间,以便平衡好各方面的时间安排。但是,每当有老师问我为什么不能全职来做,指责我管理做得不好,或不组织假期活动时,我就时常冒出要退出协调工作的想法,让更有能力的同修来接替我的工作。

去年九月份,我刚搬完家,想到有几位老师给孩子们举办的春令营活动刚结束,我打个电话问问情况。结果大家反馈春令营开的非常成功,希望能到我家开个会总结一下。我一听很高兴,就联系校长,商定第二天中午到我家。午饭后,我们开始交流。交流得比较激烈,有人提到我根本就不胜任副校长这个职位。对这突然其来的批评,当时的我一直面带微笑,并没有动心,而且还想正合我意,我早就想能有人接替我就好了,现在有人主动提出,我就顺势而退吧。

交流会结束后,我与校长及多位老师又進行了沟通,我的想法有所改变。我向内找自己,表面上我大度,心态平和,不与别人争高低;实际上这是我自私的表现,我不愿吃苦、不愿多付出,不想承担责任。我不自信,总觉得自己能力有限。向内找后,我认真思考大家交流时提出的问题,我开始审视自己,真的是我没能力吗?真的是我没时间吗?师父不是告诉我们难行能行吗?如果这是我和师父签约的使命,我能轻言放弃吗?我知道不应该这样。

我对自己说这是个正法项目,我不能轻易放弃,我应该克服各种困难做好。于是,我调整自己,针对提出的问题,我积极做第四学期开学前的准备工作,与各位老师沟通,打消大家的负面情绪。很快,明慧学校老师们又成了一个整体,大家消除了隔阂,全身心投入教学中了。

二、与家长共同探讨如何带好大法小弟子

师父说:作为大法弟子来讲,包括全世界所有的大法弟子,走正自己的路,同时又救度着众生,可是你们自己的很多大法弟子的亲人、孩子却放任着,管不了,甚至于无能为力。这个社会就这么强大的吸引力,这负面的因素就这么强。”[1]

学习师父的这段讲法,我悟到师父在提醒作为家长的我们,一定要管好孩子。为了最大限度的符合常人社会修炼,我们绝大多数修炼人都是有家庭的,那么能出生在大法弟子家庭中的孩子,也一定是有安排的,有使命的。那么作为家长,我们就有使命带好大法小弟子。

在家长会前,我设计了一份详细的调查表了解孩子们的现状,然后针对存在的问题,提出改進的方案。在家长会中,我们共同学习了师父关于孩子教育方面的讲法。我也分享了我阅读《魔鬼在统治我们的世界》的教育篇的体会,我悟到中共一方面努力培养有才无德的接班人,一方面渗透西方教育,弱智化西方人,因为邪恶最害怕的是德才兼备的人。所以,我悟到培养德才兼备的大法小弟子也是一个长期艰苦而重要的项目。那么,要想带好大法小弟子,首先就得带大法小弟子们一起学法炼功,做师父要的三件事。只有他们自己能按真、善、忍的法理要求自己,愿意当大法小弟子,那么师父就会管他们,各种干扰就会减少。

那么,明慧学校作为一个周日的中文学校,怎样才能帮助家长们呢?我们想到让孩子们自由组合成立的学法炼功小组,是个好方法。

于是,我就从我做起,提倡早读,我带儿子与另几位孩子在家长会后就开始了早上六点半到七点半学法炼功的小组。常言道:一日之计在于晨,如果能培养孩子早起学法炼功也是个好习惯。同时,其他老师与家长也根据各自的时间,组合成了很多小弟子的学法小组,从两人一组到五人不等,也有在晚上七、八点学法的,另外还有老师组织孩子在网上从下午四点到四点半学法的。总之,从去年十二月份开始,各班级都有不间断的学法小组,有读《洪吟》的,有读《转法轮》的。很多孩子都在网上平台上参与了学法小组,在近一年来,孩子们不但认字能力有了很大提升,其他各方面的表现也很突出。

三、舞蹈班参与社区活动讲真相

明慧学校舞蹈班的孩子参加过多次的社区讲真相活动,广受好评。今年我们的舞蹈,又被选中参与社区语言学校联合会举办的晚宴上的表演。一共只选五个节目,我们被选中了,而且作为压轴表演。在孩子们表演舞蹈时,我感受到了场内充满了正能量,在孩子们做空中翻腾时,现场一阵阵的掌声,还有很多人拍照,会场气氛很好,孩子的舞蹈得到了大家的赞叹和认可。孩子们还在表演结束后给前排的嘉宾政要们送了六七十朵真相莲花。

由于孩子们的出色表现,给我们也带来了讲真相的机会。孩子们拿着真、善、忍好的牌子在门口拍照,她们漂亮的舞蹈服装也得到赞赏。在晚宴期间及结束后,我和另一个同修老师积极主动与嘉宾们拍照交谈。交谈中,我们知道那个摄影师在中国住过十年,我们向他讲了真相,他表示他知道,当他们知道我们还教正体中文时,非常开心,他说澳洲二十年前也都是正体字,现在普遍教简体字都是中共渗透的结果,希望有更多的学校教正体字。我把我带的二三十朵真相小莲花送给了教育部长和其他一些议员和语言联合会的成员。每个拿到莲花的人都非常开心,都表示感谢,有的挂在自己胸前口袋的钮扣上。还有的双手捧在胸前非常恭敬的接过莲花,开心的说:法轮大法!,连声道谢。

明慧学校孩子们的绘画水平也不错,每年参加绘画比赛,明慧学校也总有孩子获奖。今年有一个孩子获得该年龄组的第二名,并参加当晚的颁奖。在晚宴颁奖典礼上,获奖学生的画被送给了新州议会议员,他还和我们一起留影纪念。

另外,今年明慧学校还推荐了一名学生参加一年一度的新州教育厅长奖评选,该奖项每年只评选十名学生,小学五名,中学五名。我们明慧学校的学生有幸被评选上高度嘉许奖,由于疫情缘故,尚未参加颁奖典礼。

其实,每次参加活动的过程,也是去我执着心的过程。当接到活动通知时,我总是本能的想逃避,不想参加,但是理性的一面又劝说我要积极参加,让孩子们融入主流社会证实大法。最终,理性战胜了惰性,看到孩子们以自己的努力证实大法,我很开心。当然,我知道这一切其实是师父在做,我们只是动动嘴、动动手而已。

明慧学校每学期末举办孩子们的才艺表演,鼓励家长们从小注重对孩子在音乐、舞蹈、美术等艺术方面的培养。我们都知道师父亲自带领的神韵项目需要很多有艺术特长的年轻大法弟子,而这方面人才的培养是个长期而艰苦的过程,不光是对孩子,对家长更是个长期艰苦的考验。当然每个孩子可能都有不同的助师正法路,我们也提醒家长们不要忽视了孩子在文化知识方面的教育,从小各方面能力的培养,将为他们成为德才兼备的修炼人奠定坚实的基础。

四、参加中文教学研讨会,传播中华传统文化

明慧学校坚持教授正体汉字,因为正体汉字不但是中华文化的瑰宝,也是珍贵的世界文化精品。正体汉字是全球唯一存在的符号文字,是神传给人的。今年九月举办的悉尼大学中文教师专业研讨会上,明慧学校以趣解古体汉字,领略中华文化为课题,介绍我们在传统文化班给学生们讲述正体字故事,与孩子一起完成正体字绘画作品等教学经验。同时,讲述汉字是神传文化的一部分,推荐一些真相视频。师父点悟我推广《悠游字在》等大法弟子作品,还点悟我怎样加入二维码及短链接。我在讲稿中加入了一些讲真相的网站连接。演讲结束,师父又点悟我要加入英文,这样讲稿可以给更多的常人老师,给更多的人讲汉字神传文化的真相。

我想到了师父说:大法弟子在这个社会上,无论你在任何一个环境中,任何社会的一个角落中,你都在起着正面的作用。无论你是讲真相也好、证实法也好,没在直接做大法的事也好,你都在救度着众生,都在起着巨大的作用,(鼓掌)因为你的正念和慈悲的场就在起着正面的作用。”[2] 所以,我悟到我们应该多参加各类活动,积极讲述真相。

五、协调网上法会,全校师生整体提高

一个项目要想形成整体,更健康的发展,离不开集体学法与交流。最近几个月明慧学校的教职工每周一次网上集体学法与交流,大家的收获也很大。师父说:但是我只是讲了我给你们留下的最好的洪法形式就是集体炼功和法会。”[3]

为了配合澳洲法会,我鼓励大家都能投稿,但是很多人都会觉得自己没有能力写稿件给澳洲法会投稿,所以,我建议我们学校在澳洲法会截稿前召开自己的小型法会,鼓励明慧学校所有的孩子、家长及教职工都积极写稿件。刚开始,有些老师也不愿意写,也不重视,离明慧学校法会不到两个星期了,还没有收到什么稿件。我内心有些发愁了。

中秋节前的一次明慧学校教师学法交流会上,当时我们正在讨论筹备我们明慧学校的首次法会,师父的这段法就呈现在我眼前。

师父说:大家在这一段时间的修炼过程中有哪些提高,有什么样的认识,在你们谈心得体会中我也想听一听。昨天记者问我:说你一生中什么事情感到最高兴,当然我一生就是在做这件事情,对于常人东西我说我没有什么最高兴的,当我听到或者看到学员谈心得体会的时候我最心慰。”[4]

这时我的心一震,改变了自己消极状态,因为我知道这一年来,孩子们在学法上精進了,在很多方面都有了提高,他们一定有心得体会可以分享的,而且家长老师们也一样在这过程中修炼自己,提高心性。于是我与大家分享了师父的这段法,通过学法交流,大家都认识到写修炼心得的重要性,而且作为明慧学校老师,为人师表,应该给孩子们做个好榜样。所以老师们都积极动员指导孩子们写体会。

在师父的慈悲加持下,法会出乎意料的成功,法会从上午九点半顺利召开到下午五点圆满结束,有二十位学生、十四位家长与教职工发言。因为我们是视频法会,看着发言的同修在谈体会,也犹如大家都坐在一个会场里那样的真实。听着孩子们的交流,家长们也都意识到孩子就象一面镜子,自己没做好的地方也会在孩子身上体现出来。同时我们也都意识到要修好自己才能教育好孩子。我相信,当师父看到听到这些大法弟子的交流也一定会感到心慰。

总之,在参与明慧学校的协调工作中有很多的感悟,但是我最明确的一点认识就是,培养德才兼备的大法弟子是我们共同的使命。

My Cultivation Experience as a Coordinator at Minghui School

By a Falun Dafa Chinese practitioner in Australia

Greetings Master!

Greetings fellow practitioners!

Today I would like to share with you the changes that have taken place at Sydney Minghui School over the past two years, as well as some of my cultivation experiences in participating in the coordination work at Minghui School.

1. Overcoming Difficulties in coordination work

It has been over twenty years since the establishment of the Sydney Minghui School. Many of young Dafa disciples from the school have grown up and entered various Fa rectification projects, and according to the principal, at least twenty Shen Yun performers were once students at Sydney Minghui School. Although the growth and achievements of these young Dafa disciples are mainly due to the efforts of their parents, Minghui School provides a cultivation environment for the children, which is a rare piece of pure land in today’s society.

I joined Minghui School project five years ago, when my son was just over four years old. I was very happy because he had never practiced exercises before, no matter how much he was told to do so at home. So, I made up my mind to send him to Ming Hui School because I knew that this was a rare cultivation environment that Master created for young Dafa disciples.

Three years ago, I was fortunate enough to be invited by the principal to participate in some of the coordination work at Sydney Ming Hui School. During these three years doing coordination work, I have also experienced a lot of xinxing tests.

Before taking part in the coordination work, I rarely communicated with other practitioners because I had a full-time job, and I had to take care of my child and my family and do three things. My schedule was already full. I thought it was just a Sunday at Minghui School, but after participating in the coordination work, I realized that this was not the case. For example, it takes time to communicate with teachers and parents, to coordinate children’s activities, to prepare lessons, etc. There are also other school matters that I have to deal with.

Early last year, I asked my workplace to reduce my working hours so that I could balance my schedule in all aspects. However, whenever a teacher asked me why I didn’t quit my job and devoted full-time to Ming Hui school, or why I didn’t spend time organizing holiday activities for the children, or when they comment negatively on my management, I often came up with the idea of quitting the coordination work so that a more capable fellow practitioner could take over my work.

Last September, after I had just moved home, I thought that the spring camp organized by a few teachers just finished, so I called them to see how it was going. The feedback was that the camp had been a great success and they wanted to come to my house for a meeting to wrap it up. I was happy to hear that, so I contacted the principal and he agreed to come to my house at noon the next day. After lunch, we started sharing. The exchange was quite heated, and when someone said that I was not qualified for the post of Vice Principal. I just smiled at this sudden criticism and was not moved by it, and I thought it was time to quit.

After the meeting, I communicated with the principal and a number of teachers again, and I changed my mind. On the surface, I was generous, calm and did not argue with others. In reality, I was selfish, I did not want to suffer, I did not want to give more, and I did not want to take responsibility. I was not confident, and I always felt that my ability was limited. After looking inward, I seriously thought about the issues raised during the meeting, and I began to look into myself. Was it really because I didn’t have time? Didn’t Master tell us that “Nothing is truly unbearable or impossible”? If this is the mission that I signed with Master, could I give it up so easily? I knew that I should not do so.

I said to myself that this is a Fa-rectification project, and I should not give up easily, I should overcome all kinds of difficulties and do a good job. Therefore, I corrected myself, in response to the problems raised, and I actively prepared for the teaching plan of term four. I communicated with all the teachers to dispel their negative feelings. Soon, the teachers at Ming Hui School became once again, bridging the gap between them and devoting themselves to teaching.

2. Discussing with parents on how to lead young Dafa disciples

Master said,

Dafa disciples everywhere all must stay on a virtuous course and at the same time help save lives. But many of you are indulging your own children or [young] relatives, and can’t discipline them. And in some cases you are completely powerless before them. That’s how powerful the lure of this world is. The negative factors are so strong.” (Fa Teaching Given at the New York Fa Conference Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Dafa’s Spreading)

After studying this Master’s teaching, I realized that Master was reminding us our responsibility as parents. As cultivating in everyday people’s society, most of practitioners have families. Children who are born into Dafa disciples’ families must also have an arrangement and a mission. As parents, we have a mission to bring up our young Dafa disciples well.

Before the parents meeting, I designed a detailed questionnaire to understand the current situation of the children and then proposed improvement plans to address the problems. During the parent-teacher conference, we learned from the Master’s teaching on child education. I also shared my experience of reading the education chapter of “The Devil Rules Our World”. I realized that the Chinese Communist Party has been trying to nurture talents but the immoral successors on the one hand, infiltrating Western education on the other hand to retard Westerners, because what the evil fears most is people with both virtue and talent. Therefore, I realized that nurturing young Dafa disciples with both virtue and talent is a long-term important project. In order to lead Dafa disciples well, we must first lead them to learn the Fa and practice the exercises together and do the three things that Master wants them to do. Only if they can demand themselves according to Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance of the Fa and are willing to be Dafa disciples, will Master take care of them, and all kinds of interference will be reduced.

So, how can Ming Hui School, as a Sunday Chinese school, help parents? We came up with a good way of letting the children form their own group to study Fa and do exercises.

So, I started with myself and advocated early reading, and I took my son and a few other children to start a small group from 6:30-7:30 am to study Fa and do exercises. As the saying goes, “The day’s work is in the morning”, and it would be a good habit to train children to get up early to study Fa and do exercises. At the same time, other teachers and parents have also formed many small groups of young disciples suitable to their own schedules, ranging from two to five people, as well as those who study the Fa at night. There are also teachers who organize their children to study the Fa online in the afternoon. All in all, since last December, there have been uninterrupted Fa study groups in many classes, including those who read Hong Yin, and those who read Zhuan Falun. Many children have participated in Fa study groups on the online platform. Over the past year, the children have not only improved their word recognition skills but have also excelled in other areas.

3. Truth-telling of dance classes in community activities

The children of Minghui School’s dance class have participated in several community truth-telling events that have been well received. This year our dance, again, was selected to participate in a performance at the GALA dinner held by the NSW Federation of Community Language Schools Inc. There are only five performances selected and we were chosen and performed as the finale. As the children performed their dance, I could feel the positive energy in the room. There was a big applause, and many people took pictures as the children did their cartwheels. The children also gave about sixty lotus flowers to the VIP guests after the performance.

Thanks to the great performance of the children, we also had the opportunity to tell the truth. The children were photographed at the door with signs of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and their beautiful dance costumes were appreciated. During and after the dinner, another teacher and I took the initiative to take pictures and talk to the guests. We told a guest the truth and he said he knew about it. He was very happy when he found out that we were still teaching traditional Chinese, he said that 20 years ago in Australia, all characters were in traditional script, and that now it was common to teach simplified characters because of the infiltration of the Chinese Communist Party, and he hoped that more schools would teach traditional characters. I gave twenty or thirty small lotus flowers to the Minister of Education and some other members of the Parliament and the Language Federation. Everyone who got a lotus flower was very happy and thanked them, some hung them on the buttons of their breast pockets. Others received the lotus flowers respectfully with their hands on their chests and said happily, “Falun Dafa!” They kept thanking us for the flowers.

The children of Ming Hui School are also good at drawing. Every year, some children of Ming Hui School have won awards in the drawing competition. This year, one child came second in their age group and participated in the awards ceremony that night. At the dinner award ceremony, the winning student’s drawing was presented to a member of the NSW State Parliament, who took a photo with us to commemorate the event.

In addition, this year, Ming Hui School has nominated one student to participate in the Minister’s Award, which is given to ten students each year, five for junior students and five for senior students. Our student was honoured to be selected for the Highly Commended Award.

In fact, every time I attended an event, it was also a process of de-stressing my obsession. When I was notified of the event, I always instinctively wanted to avoid it and did not want to participate, but my rational side persuaded me to actively participate, so that the children could join the mainstream society and validate Fa. In the end, reason won out over inertia, and I was happy to see the children validate Fa with their own efforts.

Minghui School organizes a talent show for children at the end of each term and encourages parents to focus on training their children in music, dance, art and other arts from an early age. We all know that the Shen Yun project led by Master himself needs many young Dafa disciples with artistic talents, and the cultivation of talents in this area is a long and arduous process, not only for the children, but also for the parents. Of course, each child may have a different path, and we remind parents not to neglect their children’s education in cultural knowledge. The cultivation of abilities in all areas from a young age will lay a solid foundation for them to become virtuous and talented practitioners.

4. Participating in Chinese Language Teaching Seminars to Spread Chinese Traditional Culture

Ming Hui School insists on teaching traditional Chinese characters because traditional Chinese characters are not only a treasure of Chinese culture, but also of global one. It is the only symbolic script that exists in the world and had been handed down to man by divine. In the professional seminar for Chinese teachers at the University of Sydney in September this year, Ming Hui School introduced our teaching experience by telling students stories about traditional characters in traditional culture classes and working with children to complete drawings of traditional characters. At the same time, we explained that Chinese characters are part of the divine culture and recommended some truth videos. Master enlightened me on how to promote Dafa disciples’ works such as “Youyouzizai” cartoon, and how to add QR codes and short links. I included some links to websites that tell the truth in the script. At the end of the speech, Master instructed me to add English, so that the speech could be given to more regular teachers and more people to know the truth about the divine culture of Chinese characters.

I was reminded of Master’s teaching in Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital.

Master said,

“As a Dafa disciple in this society, no matter what kind of setting or corner of society you find yourself in, you are playing a positive role. Regardless of whether you are clarifying the truth and validating the Fa or doing things not so directly connected to Dafa, you are nonetheless saving sentient beings and are playing huge roles (applause), and that is because your righteous thoughts and compassionate field are having a positive effect.” (Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital)

Therefore, I realized that we should participate in more activities and actively tell the truth.

5. Coordinating online Fa conference to improve teachers and students as a whole

In order for a project to develop as a whole and to be healthier, it is necessary to learn and communicate collectively. In recent months, the staff of Minghui School have been studying the Fa and exchanging ideas once a week on the Internet, and they have gained a lot. 

Master said,

 “the best forms I leave for you for spreading the Fa are group exercises and Fa conferences.” (“Teachings at the Conference in Switzerland”)

Therefore, I suggested that our school hold its own mini meeting before the deadline of the Australian Falun Dafa Association Conference to encourage all the children, parents, and staff of Ming Hui School to actively write articles. At first, some teachers were reluctant to write and did not take it seriously, so less than two weeks before the ceremony, we had not received any submissions. I was a little bit worried.

At a meeting for teachers at Ming Hui School before the Mid-Autumn Festival, when we were discussing preparations for our first Fa conference at Ming Hui School, this part of Master’s Fa was presented to me.

Master said,

“I also want to hear, in your experience sharing, what improvements you have made as well as what kinds of insights you have gained during the recent period of cultivation. Yesterday a reporter asked me, “What has made you the happiest in your whole life?” Of course, my whole life has been devoted to this one thing. I said, as to matters of ordinary people, there’s nothing that would make me happiest, but when I hear or see students sharing their experiences, that is when I feel most gratified.” (Teachings at the Midwestern U.S Conference)

I knew that the children had improved in their study of the Fa over the past year, and that they must have insights to share, and that the parents and teachers were also cultivating themselves and improving their xinxing in the process. So, I shared this section of Master’s teachings with other teachers. We all realized the importance of writing a sharing, and that as teachers at Minghui School, we should set a good example for our children as teachers. As a result, the teachers actively prepared their sharing and encourage the students as well.

With Master’s compassionate blessing, the sharing conference was an unexpected success. The conference went smoothly from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, with twenty students, fourteen parents and staff speaking. Because we had an online video Fa conference, it was as real as if we were all sitting in the same room, watching the speakers sharing about their experiences. Listening to the children, the parents also realized that their children are like a mirror and what they are not doing well will be reflected in their children. They also realized that they have to improve themselves in order to teach their children well. I believe that Master will be happy to see and hear our cultivation sharing conference.

All in all, I have gained many insights from my involvement in the coordination work of the Minghui School, but the one thing that is most clear to me is that it is our common mission to cultivate Dafa disciples with both virtue and talent.
